Kotobukiya MW20

I got this at XL-Shop while being at The Empire (instead of the Border Break models). And man, I wanted this straight away even though I still have to pay for it first. What is so interesting is that Koto (short for Kotobukiya, my term) has come up with a lot of accessories for those robot models. especially Gundams. Hooks, weapons, cross hatches, square boxes, vents, etc. looks very nice and actually complements the model, making it a lot more realistic.

But please do not put too much stuff on your model or else it would look weird. Also, try to make it look believable too. I mean, have you ever seen a tank with gigantic rivets that sticks out like pimples? How about a Ferrari with round bezels all over the place?

This is the MW20, from Kotobukiya. How do I
know that? Because the plastic bag says so. And
not only that, I got a new XL-Shop stamp card.

Once you open it up, you are presented with three
grey plastic sprues and a wind-up motor. And you
can build this model up in just under an hour. That
is, unless you dare to skip breakfast/lunch/dinner
set by your ever loving, beautiful, hardworking,
intelligent, thin, sexy, smart Wife.

Yes, its really a wind up motor
in there. But I have plans to
replace it because its too slow
for my liking.

Overall, when fully built, I think its about four
inches in length. Which is great for a 1/100th
Scale Gundam, 1/35 Patlabor or even a Falke.
(Oops... did I say Falke? No? Never mind)

Uncle Loong supports playing responsibly. So, even
if you have your IC/MyKAD, you are still not allowed
to play unless you have a Driver's license or got 10
or even 1 million zillion gadzillion A's for your PMR.

Kaelynn's Sports Day Part 2

You know what happened next after coming away from the Shah Alam Panasonic stadium? That's right. We did not go home. Instead, we went for lunch at the Empire. Initially, the plan was to go home and snore until midnight but because everyone was hungry, I 'accidentally' took a detour and ended up at The Empire (that did not strike back *ahem*)

[I don't even understand that joke either]

So, guess where we ate?

Chilis!

We chose Chilis for three reasons:
1) Free kids meal for every full meal ordered
2) Bottomless drinks
3) Bottomless nachos
4) There were only three reasons

Surprisingly, unlike Bangsar's, the food arrived
faster than we expected. It was ready in just
mere minutes! Its as if they had a Star Trek
food replicator hiding in the kitchen.

As usual, I order the crispy
chicken salad minus the 'hot'
since the hot
n' spicy version
could not be
done due to
Copyright by KFC

In the end, as usual, I could only finish half compared
to
when I was a teenager. The difference is that now,
it is
now considered very rude to help finish off your
friend's
unfinished food.

And yes, we're going crazy with the
bottomless nachos and its salsa. I
have yet to fulfill my wish of just
coming in, ordering the bottomless
ice lemon tea and the bottomless
salsa and stay there for hours.....

As for the girls, Kristine got her macaroni...

While Kaelynn got her chicken crispers...thingy
Yeah, she's very excited.

This is one of the few occasions where
the girls actually finish their food.

OK, make that one girl

Despite everything, I still cannot
finish my salad, even after I put
some of the bottomless Nachos to
make it better.

Wife was still 'ordering' here.

After our dinner, it was time to
explore The Empire. OK, maybe
its new but there is not much to
explore.

So we took pictures instead.

And more pictures...

By now, you would have noticed that
these girls are natural when it comes
to posing. After a nice dinner, that is

Whoa! Who put XL-Shop there with Toys r Us?
OK, since I have about 10 minutes left, guess
which shop I went into?

This is a very nice 1/35 scale model kit.
And apart from the feet, it looks almost
believable. These robots are taken from
Sega's Arcade game called Border Break

Unfortunately, not all designs are nice
for my taste. Eventually, guess which
one I liked? If this goes on, Kotobukiya
can give Bandai's Gundams a run for
their money.

Kaelynn's Sports Day Part 1

Today is Kaelynn's Sports Day and we're quite excited to get there. However, our enthusiasm sort of faded when it was revealed that its going to be the same Panasonic Stadium in Shah Alam. The first time we were there, it was very hot. And not only that, it was hot. Plus, did I mention that it was hot? Because of that, the girl's grandparents decided not to go.

Alas, as a Daddy, I cannot easily escape this one. Anyway, today's task is simple"

A. Drop of Wife to school
B. Surf por...er, do some research
C. Get the girls ready
D. Meet up with Wife in Shah Alam
E. Go to the Stadium.

Unfortunately, the plan hit its first snag. They
are still having their breakfast. And so, I had
to make sure everything is ready in time.

Then we discovered Grandma washed Kaelynn's
sports shoes and her socks got wet trying to put
the shoes on. So, I had to use this method to get
them dry since I have less than an hour to solve
this problem. Yeah, its illegal too.

And I can tell you that Vee chai's engine smell
very nice for the rest of the day. I stuffed her
wet shoes into the engine bay so that the heat
would dry them. By the time we arrived to
meet up with Mommy, her shoes was dry.

Slowly, the crowds are trickling in to register and
also to get their kids into the Stadium. Also, see
the booth on the right? It was the only one selling
butter corn and ice-creams.

Also, it was the only staff there. He was working like
crazy to make the corn and also trying to serve very
impatient parents at the same time. Man, looking at
him, he could go wacko any minute. Me? I had to keep
my tempers in check as some parents are really asking
for it, cutting queues. If Kristine was not there...

The event starts at about 3PM (or was it 2?). But by
1445,
it was already full of anxious parents. Sweating
anxious
parents. And its really hot in there.

Even though the ceiling is high but it still very hot.
(Only 10 lights were working if you're curious)

Datuk Lee Chong Wei was there. And if he was not
bored, he was talking on his mobile.

Why oh why would they
want to do maintenance
work now? What if some kid
got hurt? They are pulling
cables from the ceiling to
the floor above for reasons
unknown. Sheesh.

This time, Kaelynn got a Medal. Never mind if its
Third but she got a medal. Kristine was
happy for
her too. She won last year but they
ran out of medals.
This was because it is for show, once she goes back to
her line, the teachers would take it off from her and pass
it on to the next winning team. This time, as soon as she
got the medal, we both exit immediately. Heh heh.

End of Part One.
