The Loneliness of being Free

Yep, its starting to hit me. I am 'free'. No more having to face the Wife and Kids, no more having to scold them or being scolded on. Yeah, freedom!

But is it, really? As I come home from work, there is no one to greet me, there is no hot dinner, and more importantly, there is no sound of Family echoing every corners of the house. I can cook what I want, eat what and when I want. Heck, I can even walk around naked and no one would know. Its like as if I was back into my University days again. I cook, read, clean and go about my own business MY way. MY way.

Sadly, there is no one to share your achievements, no one to hug you to sleep, no one you can talk to face to face and more importantly, see their faces. Even with today's technology, its just not the same. And when you're sick or in trouble, there's no one you can whine to. Sure my Bosses are doing their best to keep me occupied with dinners but then, there is a limit too; you can't bring them home. At the end of the day, you'll still be sleeping alone with no one kicking you, massage your back or even steal the blankets. It would be scandalous if you kidnap someone from the office or even start something which you're not supposed to. Yeah, it's becoming very hard to hide the bodies nowadays, especially when you don't have a car.

For tonight, I'm on automatic mode, trying not to let the feelings come over me. A NERF blaster would have helped but Toys R Us was about a 40 minutes walk away. This time, I am going to mix the beaten egg with the rice plus the Maggi Cukup Rasa into the rice cooker and let it cook by itself. And since I'm going back home in two day's time, the spring onions and tuna would have to be finished ASAP, which kinda makes tonight's rice feel oversaturated with their tastes. In normal circumstances, that can of tuna will last me for at least a minimum of 5 meals...

Slightly more water and less rice seems to do the trick. The idea of putting in the beaten egg and Maggi cukup rasa at the same time with the rice seems to work out fine too. The only downside is that you cannot get the egg all over the rice.

Pardon the 'mess' this time, I'm really hungry!

I think I'm going to bring a NERF blaster with me on my next trip back here... Oh, and maybe, a few bags of those deep-fried chopped garlic as well.
