The Playmates Tricorder I
OK, so, while I was looking for one of my notes, I found these. Yes, they are the electronic upgrade kit I bought two years ago, in preparation for one of our Wedding portraits (which did not turn up well). And so, it still here, after all these years.
I bought this from a very nice person called Gerhad Mros because he was (and still is) the only person who does the electronics for the toy. What this upgrade kit does is to make the Playmates Star Trek:The Next Generation toy Tricorder light up just like what you see on the show.
Now, since I found them again, I am so tempted to re-start this project in time for the November 4th Movie and Collectibles Bazaar. Then again, I might not if there is not enough time for me since I am quite busy with my work for the until December.

Gerry was kind enough to solder all these for me as (at that time)
it was really getting close to my Wedding Portrait appointment
In the end, we just held the toy

Order this from Gerry (g m r o s @ c o g e c o . c a)(just remove the spaces) and you get everything
shown on the table (except the table). The manual is so detailed, you can't go wrong
with this project, unless you hate Tricorders or electronics.
Ooh-ooh! This is a short video of the LEDs lighting up
when I powered it from a power supply. I can't wait to
put this into the Tricorder, provided I can still find the
@#$% stickers for the Upgrade Kit
The Nike Watch
So, what. Its only three weeks or so that I have worn this watch. And this is its fourth time I forgot to take it off while I was washing my hands or having a shower. Its starting to show signs of stupidity (on my part, la)
There are scratches on the edges and the clasp as I keep scraping it against innocent things such as concrete walls, iron grills, phones, girls, etc. Then there is the problem with water. OK, so the watch is not waterproof. The LCD display is going nuts.
And so, ladies and gentlemen, instead of three months, I have started to wear down this watch in three weeks. Damn, there goes my RM39.00
Someone buy me a Suunto, please.

Pringles in the Go!
It was almost finishing time and the Kenari was almost out of fuel too. So, I stopped by Shell to pump some petrol and picked up a pack of Pringles. Yeah, I was so busy that I had forgottten to eat again. And this morning's breakfast was quite light
Anyway, this costs me RM1.90 and had about 36 slices. Yeah, I just love stuff that has onions and garlic, followed by cheese. However, it only lasted me about 3 minutes as I wolfed it down while on the Highway.
Maybe I should have taken those RM1.60 potato buns instead as it was much more filling.

Bathtime for Kaelynn and Kristine
So, this is how its going to be. Each babies take their turn for baths. Both of them are not old enough to take baths together (to save water). It all started when Kaelynn soiled her nappies with some nice biological waste...

Soon after, it was time for Kaelynn to take her bath

Which, after that was big sister Kristine's turn

Remember this smile. It is a smile of many mischiefs
to come

While Kristine was playing with the Bubbles, I decided to
pop out to take her towel

And seconds later, this little girl came running
into the room

And upon seeing the towel (which means end of bath session)
she ran back to the bathroom
Sunday Morning in the Bed
It is Sunday morning and I realised I had missed Spongebob Squarepants by 40 minutes. After a nice stint at the toilet, Kristine woke up. So I carried her over to the bed where I was surfing wirelessly (thanks to some neighbour).
System Installation @ Prai
So, we arrived in Prai late in the evening and the customer's place was closed. We learnt later that is was still open but because the actual Boss is not there, we cannot do much. So, we settled for a nice Steamboar Buffet dinner with Loctor Mayat.
Day I
On the next morning, we went down to check if the new PABX has arrived and also to go around the site to check on the phones and their extensions. Because we're going to replace the old PBX with the new PABX, this meant that the old phones would have to be changed as well. So, our plan was to take note of all the extensions and their settings, change half the phones (since the other half was non Digital which was still being used) transfer all the old cabling to an open-frame style and also mount/install the new PABX side by side. And once this was done, we would perform a switch-over after that.

This is the old PBX model which is located near the roof

It has been exposed to the elements, which is not so good

I feel so sad about it

Some parts are already rusting badly

And some parts are being made into homes

My job was to takle the PBX's cabling

And most of it were in a sorry state

The other team were to prep the new PABX and install it

2130: I am halfway there..........
The cables are dirty, hardened and also pisssed me off

By near midnight, the new system is ready, and so are the cabling
And we switched over

If not for the flash, my hands would be very dirty indeed (so was my nose)

Everyone was tired except me. I was too tired to sleep
as I had been standing still for four hours on the cables
Now only that, the guy on my left snored every 15 minutes
while my colleague on my right snored the whole night

Not even some night photography could wear me out
Day II
On the next day, we came earlier and checked all the phones. Some were not working as the cabling was not correct (yeah, my fault, due to tiredness) and we had to rectify that. As for the remaining analog phones, we converted them into the new Digital ones. And since that room was full of analog phones, we decided to increase the number of phones there for convenience. This is because for a single extension cable, you have four wires inside. And analog phones uses all four of them. When we converted them into Digital which uses only two, the remaining two wires are free to be used for another extension.

The older system has been removed

On the way out, there was another area which needed
our attention but because it was not stated in the
service work order, we cannot do much about it

Woo-hoo! Time to go home!
By this time, my colleague's sorethroat developed into a
full blown flu/hayfever/cough/running nose, etc.
I suspect it could be the Buffet Steamboat which started it as the soup
was Tom Yam and he fried a lot of stuff, then the Haze in Penang and
also, the stuffiness and the air-con on full in Hotel Berlin.

One the way out, there was a small traffic jam

Caused by a huge crack on the bridge. Earlier in the morning,
we saw a few cars with punctures parked on the road
shoulder. The Police and these Engineers came soon
after. Yeah very serious indeed.

But, before we went on our way, we stopped by the Megamall so
that I could get something for Kristine. I walked almost four
rounds there until Loctor SMSed that all DVD shops are not
there anymore except only at night. Damn.
I could have bought a lot for RM5 apiece

More bubbles
A few weeks ago, Kristine's Body Shop Bubble bath (a gift) ran out. And the closest was Body Shop which costs above Rm25. So, we had to look for alternatives. Boy, this is so weird.
In my time, everyone had heard of bubble baths bot not these new Generation Sales Arsessitants. We were searching all over from Toys R Us to JayaJusco to Carrefour to Cartoon Land (I think) to baby shops. No one has heard of it. Either its the changing of the times or that our education is such that we dare not expose ourselves to other things other than one main religion.
It was not until we were in Tecso by chance, and saw it. Yeah, we went nuts and bought two bottles.
And then, I discovered something else too. I used to splash the water or hose into the tub to make the bubbles. (It was tiring). Then one night, I used the small mug, riased it up and then pour it back into the tub (for about 15 times). The bubbles were much much better.

Here we go again
Last time, my Dad told me that there were still termites left in the kitchen and the Terminte guy have settled the issue. I thought nothing about it until I opened one of the kitchen cabinets.....
The Telekom Flower
[Belated post: 29.09.2006]
Somehow, I do not understand why I need to take this photo but like Mt. Everest, its there.

How to share food

When Daddy comes home, Daddy gives Kristine some leftover
Lunch which Kristine likes a lot

Then, after Kristine has eaten the sweet layer, it
is not so likeable already. Even Mommy with
her fresh fruits and yoghurt also dun want it

So Kristine go and bother Mommy until Mommy
gave her the yoghurt with fresh fruits. Kristine
then eats and makes a mess on the carpet
Poor Daddy has to eat the eaten bread
and also clean up the carpet
The Ice-cream incident
It was a Friday afternoon and after visiting a customer nearby, I decided to stop by MacDonalds to pick up some Ice-cream for Kristine on my way back to the office. So, its the usual greeting from Kristine upon seeing it, the usual moustache and etc. So, I left her with the ice-cream while I went back to the office. But when I came back later in the evening, it wa snot finished.
