Do not U-turn

Sometimes, when I really need to make a quick
U-turn near the office, I have to be very careful
as you cannot do the U-turn at the lights. If you
want to know, see the small black spot in the
middle of the photos?
Yep, that's Mr. Busybody Policeman to you.
The moment you do it, he is the witness and
tells on you to his pals 100 metres away.

12062011 Going to Litt Tak

Yes, the Sale is on. But then, this time, it was sort of a ho-hum affair for me. I had missed out the last one and so, its not a big deal anymore. Still, today, I decided to have a go...

Panoramic shot of Litt Tak warehouse from the Nokia n8

As usual, the main attraction was the
Gundam model kits. I was so excited
about them, I almost forgot that even
with the sales prices, ICW's was way
much cheaper. Still, although they had
more selections here, its just quantity.

Did I mention that I took Kristine
along after her martial arts class?

On the way back, this was one of the most beautiful
scene I have ever seen. Yep, this toll is now abolished.

And back home, the girls were very very happy

Except for yours truly because after they had opened
their toys, I realised I had bought them Tamagotchi...

Not sure what these cars were meant for but for
RM1.00 per 'slide', its too good to resist. Years ago,
when these cars first came out, they were so ho-hum
even till today. Why I bought them, I myself
cannot understand...

And the same goes for these fancy 'marble' shooters.
Whatever happened to just using your thumbs? It
came out in the early 2000, I think where they, the
manufacturer tries to make it 'popular' with kids but
from the average volumes on the shelves which later
diminished to a trickle, no kid would even want one.

And so, I bought a RM1xx.00 toy for RM20.00
which I believe, I can modify it to a better toy...

OK. so I finally bought a Gundam model. Not because I
could not find any particular model (because they were
too expensive) there. But this one was a a steal at RM50

OK, just to show you more about this Ultraman gun,
it has there barrels which when you slide the upper
part of the gun, it changes the sound effects.

No translation required. All you ever needed to know was
that it has three different barrels and the gun can be
converted into a longer weapon.

This is how the toy looks like when taken out of the box

There you go... OK, so it looks kinda nice here...

Again, this is how it looks like when extended. I do not
like this feature because once you have extended it...

There is a problem putting it back to the original position
because you cannot just snap it back. No, sir. You need
to slide at a small plastic tab to release the locking
mechanism. If you did not do that, its going
to snap into two permanent parts.

The battery compartment is 'locked' by a screw
which is great because you do not have to worry
about the cover sliding off halfway

And so, there you have it, an Ultraman gun
with three different barrels.

And no matter which barrel you chose, its always
lit up in red even though each barrel has its own
colours.

At the back of the gun, there is an option to
snap another toy to turn it into something
else. And there is a sound effect for it too.

And so, shall I modify this? Hmm.....

11062011 Saturday Activity

You know what? Its Saturday. Its also the day which I have to go to a lot of places for some errands. First off, Vee-chai needs to be serviced before anything else. So, We took both cars to the service centre. After dropping Vee-Chai off, I had to use Wife's car and drop her off at her destination.

And so, to go to the service centre, I had to use the
Rothman's roundabout which, at this moment in time,
is being demolished and replaced with traffic lights.

After that, it was time for lunch where the three of
us decided to have pizza at Domino's near Atria as
we could not locate any in Bangsar. And no, Pizza
Hut is out of the question. We want GOOD pizza.

Unfortunately, good pizza means you have to wait
for a very long time before its ready. This is how
Krsitine reacted...

Kaelynn's reaction wasn't much better.

While we were waiting, I used my Nokia n8 for
another Panoramic shot.

We were relieved when the food arrived. Since this
is a self-service outlet, eating outside is not a very
enjoyable session because if the winds did not blow
all the plates/tissues/cups away, we had to bear
with the warm midday heat.

Well, at least the food's still OK

And so, we ate as much as we can, drank as
much as we could and also, I DBKL-ed as
much as I could too. No point wasting food.

The few faces of Kristine:
The Chomping Chomper

The sad doe-eyed girl

The Evil Comedienne

The failed duck-face pout

Kaelynn's effort in being
happily angry

After the lunch, there was still a lot left over, even
when we have packed some for Mommy. And it was
still early to pick Mommy up.
So, I had another idea; why not go to ICW?

Yep, so off to ICW and from the photos, you can
see that the girls are getting taller. In fact, this
was exactly what I did when I was their age. No,
we did not run away either,

The reason why I always come
to ICW (OK, one of the reasons)
was this customised base which,
interested me a lot.

Once more, we entered the (now gone) Rothman's
roundabout to collect Vee-Chai. Seriously, this
intersection now is causing a lot of traffic jams for
all four roads. I hope the traffic lights would be up
soon. The jams has been building up since 2000.

Anyway, once we picked up Mommy and headed back to the service centre, it was time to go home. And she wondered why we were all so tired...

Ben10's Four-Arm's Car

While we were on the Penang trip, I happened to come across these little die-cast cars. What is so interesting is that these designs were based on the Ben10 cartoon characters.

And so, for RM you get this very cute little toy.
I have to say cute because not only have I not
seen such designs before, and I really need to
appreciate this toy since I shelled out so much
for it.

There are 6 designs and all of them are unique,
with no 'repeats'. I chose 'Four-Arms' because
well, it looked quite special of the whole lot.

And its about three inches long

The most attractive design that caught my eye
was that this toys has six wheels. And four of
them represents the four arms of well, Four-Arms.

Next would be the eyes, which, if properly modded,
would make a very nice set of headlights. But then,
I would need to rework the mouth and also the chin.

The same can be said for the reat where a pair
of red lights would go well over the yellow ones.

And as for the side, the 'O' would make a lovely
window. Still, some extra potholes wouldn't hurt.
But I wished there is something I can do to the
rear wheels. Maybe a HotWheels donor?

And then, when I looked at the bottom, I was
so happy because unlike other die-cast cars,
this one was 'screwed'! Bwahahaha!

And after a few minutes with the screwdriver,
this is what I got. Wow. Everything is so nice!

The only problem I can see here is the top part of
the toy, which is made of metal. Its going to take
quite a lot of work to get the holes done if I were
to go ahead with this mad scheme of mine.

So, until I get the proper tools. Its going to
stay in this way....
