Well, nothing much exciting here today. Just a normal trip to Ikea, Lots of nice things but as usual, nothing that I need.

Except for these lamps, which looks quite nice. Imagine living in a large empty warehouse and only with this lamp hanging just 2 feet above ground in one corner...

The day after the Freezer Satay

Hello again. Guess what? Today is the 23rd of the month which is nothing special. But there is one thing I need to tell you, which is that today, is the day after yesterday.

And there are some leftover satay sauce along with some of my remaining special sardine mix.

What better to enjoy this feast with some slices of bread. Yeah!

 But honestly, I would avoid the last satay stick. By the looks of it, its as if there was a fight to the Death for this last stick of satay.

More Freezer Satay

Yep, its another round of Satay again, straight from the freezer to the... er, oven. But this time, there is a difference. Yep, my very own special sardine mix.

Again, I was very hungry and so, I forgo the normal procedure of asking more about the satay. Nowadays, its no the satay which interests me, but the prospect of eating cucumbers and onions coated with the curry peanut sauce.

And here is my special sardine mix. Actually, it nothing special about it since I make it everytime. The special part is that no one wants to eat it...

... except me. Nom nom nom nom nom...

Robbery @ Jln Chow Kit

Of all the bad luck in the World, it had to happen today. It rained like crazy AFTER I visited a customer on behalf of my Senior. And running from one street to another while using the envelope as a makeshift umbrella did not help. By the time I got to Jalan Chow Kit, I was literally soaking wet.

And then, I noticed something. Its very quiet. So quiet that you can hear the rain and nothing else. I won't say you can hear a pin drop because at that moment, no one dropped any pins. And the air was filled with a very tense atmosphere so thick, you can cut it with your presence. Yep, there was a robbery and the cops were all over the place, even the forensic guys were there (don't ask me why). earlier on, they were in a 4x4 rushing through the traffic lights. Anyway, with the rain and all, I only wanted to be in a warmer place and not soaking from shoulder to waist...

I wonder... nah. I am not going to go across and ask the cops where I can get those 'Police. Do not  cross' tapes.

Baked Beans

When I was small, whenever my Mom used to cook baked beans for me, it would be one of those styles which I liked. At first, I did not notice it because I took it for granted. As a kid, you just ate what your parents tell you without any fuss.

It was not until when I grew up that I realised baked beans was delicious. The reason being, it has tomato sauce and goes well with toast. And not only that, when you cook it with some meat and even add an egg, it goes extremely well with rice.

Fry the garlic and shallots (or onions), then the meat and finally, the baked beans. If you want, you can also whisk in an egg.

Then scoop the whole she-bang onto the rice, mix it well and enjoy. I would like to recommend eating with your hands but for some reason, its a bit gross when you're so overcome with emotion, you tend to squeeze the rice/beans mixture...

Something familiar?

I don't know who brought it back to the house but this was something very nostalgic when I was a kid in school. What you see here is actually a 'tikam' board, where you pay the man some money and you get to choose the tabs at the bottom. If the chosen tab reveals a number, you get to have the prize which the number points to. Its a bit like a roulette but to some quarters, its like gambling. To me, I don't give a shit. Just try your luck, la. I mean, if your God forbids it, he would have sent a lightning bolt or set you on fire the moment you pull the tab...

This time, its Angry Birds....

Compacting...

Its a habit for me to have a small dustbin in the car because its much better than cleaning up the floor mats all the time. And not only that, it can also serve as an emergency barf container. A very important feature when the girls were very young and prone to vomiting all over the car.

So, what do you do when your car' dustbin is full? Compact it, of course!

What you need to do is just drink something that has a cover. Then while stuck in the traffic jam or having a boring passenger, stuff as much rubbish from the bin into the bottle. You can keep the bottle in the car until its full but try not to drink from anything in the dark. Another reason why I chose the bottle is that its also a very good training equipment for your 'drive & throw' sessions...

Revell's 1/144 Sea Shadow

The Sea Shadow was the US Navy's foray into stealth technology and was not announced until the early 90's. The Navy wanted to test low radar profile and the use of automation on this ship. There is a lot more information in this at the Wikipedia but otherwise, its also known as the ship in James Bond's Tomorrow Never Dies.

I got this from an SFTPMS member but his name escapes me. Its a very old kit too. I remember seeing this when I was younger but I did not buy it as at that time, I was more into Star Trek and stuff like that.

This kit has never been opened as you can see from the dead insect in the wrappings.

For 1/144 scale, I would not expect much from this kit. If there were some figures or interior, it would be a bonus

And for a kit that scale, the boat must be huge. So, the question comes, how the heck can a ship that big be able to avoid radar detection? The technology must be great.

Alas, this is going to the 'to-do' bin. Work, work, work...

Angry Bird Chequebook

Yep. You read the title right. An Angry Bird chequebook. But its for kids, la. I would not be surprised, with all these rage about the game, that there would be Angry Bird toilet papers and also, perhaps, Angry Birds pasta shapes.

Then again, maybe not because it would be a nightmare for parents when the kids start flinging the pasta shapes all over the kitchen....

Fifty Dollars for Ms. Sharon. At least, I think the kinds know how to write a cheque by now...

The Magnets

Sometime ago, I get these magnets from tziplee. The reason was twofold, one for the fridge and the other, was for some future kit-bashing since the plastic looks like a good light distributor.

For very little money, the magnets comes in a set of five. Do you see anything different? Yep, these are the ones where the magnets are lost because the glue that sticks both pieces together are very weak. For example, if I pry them open with my fingernails, I would fail. But one drop to the floor....

How to mix your own sandwich

Oh, OK, you can't mix a sandwich except by giving that person the wrong one. Anyway, I was about to make another sandwich for myself and Kaelynn knew what I was about to do, so she took the\ omelette first and put onto my bread. Sometimes, I tell you, she's so smart that she can almost predict my next steps...

She knows my style, which is to put any edible stuff between two slices of bread

How to mix your drinks

I don't know or can't remember when was the first time I mixed my drinks but I know that it was sometime during the mid-90's where my friend, SK Chiew introduced me to Neslo (Nescafe Coffee with Milo). Then at the same time, I was introduced to 'Michael Jackson' or 'Hak-Bak' (Black & White) by TC Wong in Sungei Wang. And so, sometimes as a treat, we will mix some drinks.

Today, Kaelynn is going to show you how to mix some of the drinks and get a sugar-buzz later on.

And so, on her left is the Tropicana Orange while on the right is the 7-Up.

First of all, you need a cup to mix all these drinks. Start with the Tropicana Orange and pour about half.

The, fill the rest of the cup with 7-Up, which is, about hald as well. What a coincidence.

Mix well and at this time, you need to know if the drink is either too sweet or too gassy. If its either, you need to balance the drink until its too sweet to be gassy.

Get your sister to try it and if she makes a funny face, the drink is ready...

15102012 Trip to KK

Its another trip to KK and this time, we really have a mission. And so, HM's plans for our future is starting to take place, whether I agree to it or not. OK, OK, I agree. Wholeheartedly one hundred thousand millions super-duper percent. But its damn far from Pasar Road (sob... sob...)

The very first step is this, which I would like to DIY on. Nothing special, just a simple white paint and a light.

 

While we were cleaning up, I snuck into my 'Workroom' and found this Gundam MS006. Why did I buy it? It was because I think, I was fascinated with this model ever since I got the two (red and blue) GundamFix toys.

Here's me trying to make it look like a Macross Valkyrie like those posters you see. But all I can only manage was an erected dick.

Come evening, we had some very nice little dinner at Esquire Kitchen. Since most of the waiters and waitresses were busy, I quietly went to their station and got myself some nice selection of sauces.

And the girls are happy because each has their own Tropicana Orange

And like me, they started to mix drinks...

Although the food came very fast, the girls whacked them as soon as the landed on the table.

Yes, yes. I am taking pictures as I have a lot of time. Once they have 'finished' their meals, its my turn as DBKL...

So, in any way, I am trying to tell you but I cannot say too much as the plans are slowly coming together and I would have my own room. Understand, ya?

Daddy the flier

Kristine made this for me. Or was it Kaelynn? I could not remember but I just love getting presents from them. No, I am not going to say its the best present ever and I am going to keep it, etc. Because there are other better presents which you cannot place a value on it.

Real Life car Puzzle game

Do you remember a puzzle game called Rush Hour? This is a puzzle where you need to move the bus/cars left and right or up and down so that your car can come out of the parking lot Hell. I twas quite popular so much so that it went from a normal puzzle box into a computer software version. I wondered of there is such a thing like this which inspired this game.

Well, I found my answer (sort of) when I was at the customer's place in OSK Plaza. As there were insufficient parking for Visitors, I was presented with a very unique solution: A moving parking lot.

I have seen this on some other buildings but this was implemented on a larger scale. Perhaps there are other such solutions in the Golden Triangle but would mean I have to park in every building. And this would encourage me to see more customers! Yay!

When I first drove the car into the Basement level, I was taken aback when I saw these rows of cars, with no maneuvering space. OH, there is one. But.. its... at... the... back...

Looking closer, I realised that these cars were on top of a sliding platform. Interesting.

Now, this is a very intimidating experience because there were no instructions and everyone within hearing vicinity is watching you to make your first move. Eventually, one helpful chap showed me how to do it.

Let's say your car or there is an empty platform in there, all you have to do is punch the appropriate number on the main control and then stand back. The whole platform system will then slide about until the one you wanted in in front of you.

I don't have a video of this but its amazing. The only fear is that when it breaks down and you're late for your appointment/lunch/break/go-home-time....

Hacked

Well, this is the first time my Yahoo! Mailbox got hacked into. And its very easy to know because your friends would be calling up or SMS-ing you asking about YOUR latest E-mail (which, as far as you know, you did not send, of course)

Wolfpack 1/32 F/A-18 Ejection Seat

I got this from Hobby HQ the other day. My guess is, its been sitting there for ages and I did not take any notice until I started to explore the counter since there were no new arrivals for some time. This is a resin kit from Wolfpack, which is for a 1/32 F-18 model. But to me, its a good enough seat for my kit-bashing projects. There was another ejection seat, which was for, I think, for a AV-8B Harrier but I was too late to get it because it took me days to make up my mind. Anyway, I got this pack, which is for two seats and with the discount given, it was worth the price...

This is for a F18. The reason I got it was because there was talk that the new Battlestar Galactica Viper mk.II were using such seats but was heavily modified. Being in itchy finger mode, I decided to get one, but not for the Moebius Mk.II Viper model kits. These seats are so beautifully detailed, it would be a shame to waste it. I like how they pack the parts in a very tight blister pack. Simple and (maybe) cost effective.

For RM59.90 (before reduction) , these are the parts you get. The only problem I can see so far, in my limited modeling experience, are the problems in shaving off the square resin base.

You can see the fine details of the models and just leaving it as it is, its still perfect. As there are no bubbles in the casting, the quality speaks for itself. I have left this at the 800x600 resolution for the all the pictures here for you to look at the details close-up.

Since this is a 1/32 scale seat, when I put a 1/35 figure on it, it looks quite alright. But in actual scale, the seat would look slightly bigger to the figure. Then again, what do I know about ejection seats...
