Poisoned...........
One man's meat is another man's poison.
Cool. Nice one.
I have been poisoned before but not to such degree. I mean, this is just a small little tube-piece consisting of metal and plastics. But why, oh why, does it make me go nuts? Just a press, a click and that's it. But this, this little piece of wonderful @#$& makes my Heart fill with ..... Love. As in,"I Love You, oh brainless one". Everything is so beautiful!
Even when I just shoot and shoot without any consideration, the pictures are wonderstatically beautiful. I don't even need flash which is what I like. Man, I think I am going to try going back into portraits again..........
Anyone wants to be a model? (Those without boobs, teeth nor facial hair need not apply)

That scratchy feeling
How many of you scratched your nails on a blackboard or something similar?
Yes, I can feel you squirming now.
Its not a nice feeling. In fact, the feeling is like you kissing your dog and letting it lick your face and then discovering it was eating faeces moments ago. Its not the screeching sound which gets to me but the feeling of the nail on that surface.
My nail is long.
My nail is dry.
Now I don't bleed to Death
When I dig my nose.

I have a long, dry nail,
Scratching all day long.

I took a garden shear,
and sheared it off.

End of Term Party
This morning, as usual, I was late in waking up. We agreed to wake up early so that we could fry some nuggets for Kristine's End of Term party. So, my Wife woke up early without waking me up and did all that herself. I woke up from the smell of the deep frying oil and rushed down.
And by the time I came down, Wife
has almost finished. So, she asked
if I wanted some, which I said "Yes"

Shouting at the Car Park
There is one thing I hate about parking here, the SOGO carpark. Everytime I come in, they will see the car, and then watch where you park and walk towards you. By the time you're out of the car, they would have whipped out a spray can and start to spray on your car. They then polish the area and try to sell you that stuff.
It happened to me today and I was very angry. Usually, I would just park, lock the car and quickly walk away. But today, I had a lot of things to carry and I was not fast enough and so, the guy came over and despite me saying I am not interested, he sprayed onto the car.
And so, I shouted at him.
And everyone looked at us.
And he had the balls to tell me off why I was shouting at him
I said, "This is a company car, you stupid fuck! I said no and you still spray!"
And so, I quickly took out my camera but I was not fast enough because of that emotional out burst, my hands (fingers) were shaking which locked and unlocked and locked the car. But by the time I got it out, he saw me photographing and quickly walked off to his gang.
I know the repercussions and so, I quickly drove the car out of the lot, passed by them and told them to stay while I go and make a Police Report (just to scare them). And the stupid attendant at the pay booth agreed with me. In fact, he even tells me to go to the 7th Floor at Sogo to make a complain too since there were a lot of complains about these thugs and damage to the cars. OK, so he waived my parking but what the heck, man.
Off course there was no damage but these
chemicals are dodgy. They claimed it has
no effect, and I wanted to counter, "If it
has no effect, then you're selling crap" but
there were four against me.
I know, I know, By the time I changed to the 70-200
lens, they would have either regrouped to come at
me or hidden away.

Anyway, after I came out, I decided to take a pass back to the parking lot and lo and behold, they're gone and so were their van. That was fast.

its really weird, maybe due to the oats.

My Bengmobile fat-mou, ah!
I have a serious problem regarding transportation here. Pretty soon, I will need to get the Bengmobile out and so, I need to prep it. I mean, just re-charge the battery and worry about some rusts. How hard can it get, right?
But I was not prepared with the sight presented to me. The whole interior of the car is full of fungus! And, actually, I am now at a loss as to how to get rid of it. Yeah, its my fault for forgetting to drive it at least once a month for the last few months.
Now I am more worried about the (non-functioning)
air-con and this CD Player. The whole car is infected!

Tujuh ringgit, Bang.
I am not feeling so happy today. The Sun seems to be very hot in Seremban and I was sweating all over, even when I was in the air-con room. And to make matters worse, the oat breakfast I had this morning wore out. While I was sweating at the top of a ladder, the grumblings on my stomach made it impossible to concentrate on my work. Twice I wired the cables wrongly and I even had to actually stop and think about a simple re-wiring.
Damn! Screw the late salary! I drove out to the nearest stall to get some food.

Being to technical
"... and so, this doohickey joins that thingamajic and...""Oohhh...... its all so technical, I'm going to faint."
"You want me to slap you silly?"
"Excuse me?"
"I said, this is the CCTV"
"Oh"
"Yeah"
OK, that was imagined but throughout the years practice, I have now perfected the art of boring someone to the point of drowziness with technical jargons. You can see how their eyes glazed and the stifled yawn. Now, I need to practise more to make them do my bidding........
"These aren't the droids we're looking for....."
Kristine's Recorder
Kristine is going to be in her Final Year in 2010 and so, as part of her syllabus, she gets to have a recorder. For those who are in the dark, a recorder is not a magnetic tape storage system but a fancy word for a hollow stick which makes a lot of noise in the wrong hands.
My friend in Serendah, Rawang
I have this friend of mine, who is actually my Ex-Colleague to be precise, can repair almost any electrical or electronic equipment without killing himself. Which means, he puts me to shame.
Here I am, with a fancy Degree in Electronics and I can't even open up a TV let alone a slide projector. He is the classic case of being able to survive without a Degree. For you see, when you do not know what is going to hurt/kill you, you're actually braver than those who do. I have been taught what electricity can do and how it can kill, even from an innocent electronic component and so, if you ask me to repair something, I am terrified.
Anyway, I need to get two TVs delivered to him as I could not open it without cracking the 10 -year old plastic. Which is not a problem until he tells me the exact place in Rawang, or to be more exact, Serendah. I have been there before and its just one heck of a straight road. But his place is deeper. And 10 years on, that place still has bad mobile phone reception. But we still made it despite all these hurdles in the dark.
But Rawang has changed.
Just a few hundred metres before the Highway exit, it was already jammed up with cars, even at eight in the evening. There were cars everywhere from the Rawang town to his place. This was because of a few new housing areas that was completed. Just two years ago, it was a quiet town. Now, its crazy.
Anyway, age is catching up and he is thinking about giving it all up next year to tend to an orchard for someone which he only needs to clean the place up and whatever fruits it bore, he can have it. Very impressive for someone who has no Degree and yet is responsible for the while Department's repair services.
I have his house coordinates in my GPS since the signal was strong. The next time, it would not be so difficult.

Making holes on a Monday
The moment I picked up the drill, I regretted not forcing my Technician to pay me back for the special drill bit he broke. I mean, it was fun to watch the bit glow red hot and then shatter but its not fun when you realise that you do not know how to use the tool in the first place. Rather than spend another RM30.00 or so, my Boss taught me how to drill through tiles with a normal mason bit, the ones we always use. OH, OK, its the only one we had.
Anyway, the theory is, set the drill on Hammer mode, and then gently squeeze the trigger. This way, the bit will slowly scrape and hammer the tile until you have gone through it. Then, you can turn it full blast. However, there is a small problem in the sense that it takes ages. If you rush it, you can guarantee that the tile will crack.
The best spot to make a hole is where the two tiles
join. This is the weakest part and its easy to drill
through. But you have to be very patient.
Now, making a hole where there is no weakness is
a bit of a problem. The risk of shattering is high.
And so, this stupid little 5mm hole took me more
than 40 minutes. Its' not easy, I tell you.
And every once in a while, you have to add water
so that it sort of lubricates the hole and also keeps
the grains from being airborne. Or something like
that. But its fun to dip the bit into the water, hear
it sizzle and then while wet, drill the hole at high
speed (not in Hammer mode, mind you) and see
the water bubbles and evaporates as the drill bit
heats up. I am very proud of this hole as I this
was the result of my patiently fingering it.
See this bit? Is for concrete or brick walls and not
for tiles. But if you're curious, the drill bit for a tile
looked more like an arrow. And it will cost you.
And if you do not know how to use it, it will most
definitely cost you.

Nikon 1:1.8 50mm
I had to sneak out of the house today. I really had to. But then, I got caught and had to vacuum the floors and mop them as punishment from the Home Ministry. OH, OK, that's not true. With just an hour to go before the appointed time, Wife wanted me to clean the floors since the two kids have developed an amazing ability to transfer a lot of things from anywhere to the floor within seconds.
Anyway, the meeting went on without a hitch. He is a good friend of mine and since we sort of meet once every year, I was surprised at how he looked. Yeah, he's still crazy ever since he couldn't find his brains. And so, we talked and talked, about my current predicament in both job and deteriorating photography skills (to the point of just a "point-and-shoot" guy), his exploding air-con (I mean, the GTi was a hot hatch but not a sauna) and his Garmin GPS (yes, this was what his Doctor gave him ever since he lost his brains). And so, after exactly one hour, we left.
Drinking coffee at Starbucks was like going
to Starbucks to drink coffee. Its very very
surreal. You go to this place to have coffee
but instead, you find people sitting in some
comfy chairs with things on their laps.
After we left, I got hit in the head with a very
hard object. I looked at the spot where the
object had landed. Wow.
Its a Nikon 50mm 1:1.8 Prime lens!
Looking around, I did not see anyone coming
up to claim it (for I was looking very pissed
and with my fists waving up in the air). So,
I quickly grabbed it and ran. I had to run just
in case there are other objects about to be
thrown at me. Its very painful if you get hit
by a tripod or even a 70-300mm lens.
And so, I took it home and took some shots.
Ooooooooooh my God! Beautiful! Vunderbar!
Bokeh! Bokeh! I want to take potraits again!
Because its a Prime Lens, the focus ditance is fixed
Which is not a hot idea for a fast moving subject or
when you're panning.
And yes, this time, I have to
focus on the part I am interested
in. At 1.8, I don't need to use a
flash too, which I found out why.
And so, whoever it was, I am so thankful for this
and once I have some cash next year, I will
definitely buy it.
If I used flash here, the effect
is unflattering. But using this
lens, I do not have to worry
much. The ISO settings did
not make much difference
as long as I take it at the right
moment.
