The 2.7Kg Parcel VI (16 hours later)

Well, well, well. It arrived in Singapore since 7PM!

I shall not go hungry again today

I wanted to get the oat and tuna ready last
night but because we went to The Outpost,
it was too late to do anything by the time we
came back. And so, luckily, my Mom packed
last night's leftovers into the sausage bun for
me. Then I bought an Iced Milo at the canteen
because I forgot to bring my own mug again.

The 2.7Kg Parcel V (11 hours later)

Ooh..... it went from Oakland to Anchorage in
just six hours and then after another five hours
in there, its out again.

The Last visit to The Outpost

So, tonight can be said to be the last night for me at The Outpost. I did not plan on returning here since I was there last Sunday. But because Pol wanted to get some stuff back, its a good excuse as any to just go there one last time. And so, both of us drove there after dinner.

The place is still 'functioning' despite the fact that they have until the end of this month to clear their stuff. And so, after much looking around and waiting for the items to be found, I decided to have one last meal there. But Wife is not having any since it was just after dinner.

And so, the Blueberry Freeze was no more because no one else could find that anymore since the main supplier stopped um...... supplying.

All items for sale were tagged with orange slips.
For example, the shelf here is Rm20. Only the
shelf. But not the helmets. Not the helmets nor
the masks. But after looking back at this picture,
RM20 is worth it if they include the spotlight....

Some behind the scenes shot. Costumes for events
were all here. Note some Jedi bathrobes and two
Starfleet Uniforms. Unfortunately the mannequins
are not for sale. Even of it costs less than a limb.

Take these Broken Wings..............

The scheming area.........

Next to our dinner table, there were a
lot of Star Trek merchandise for sale.

RM2 per VHS tape. But you have to take the
whole set. Richard was waiting for Kenny to
show up. Its a bargain really, until I realised
that I do not have a VCR. That working ones
belong to my Mom and its always occupied.

Srat Trek Voyager Season 5 VHS format.

2009 toys at a bargain. Kirk for RM50
while Spock's little girl was for a lot less

This was also reduced but nah, not with
the Wife sitting next to me *ahem*

RM99.00 for an unopened Tricorder.

Finally, for RM120, you can get Number One
to sit on the Captain's Chair. This is the version
which he did not spot a macho beard, which is
the Season One Will Riker.

The Captain's Chair for RM1701.00. Told
Richard to refurbish it with more accurate
and lit panels. Oh, and I told him to put a
sound system into the chair for a Home
Theatre experience, especially a big sub-
woofer under the platform........

Carrying the NX-01 the normal way (as if
its a very precious object of desire) from
the Toy Shop through the Cinema with a
lot of patrons would surely turn a few
heads.
So, I just carried it like a normal
Sci-Fi object
or hand weapon and no
one turned around and screamed.

My last meal from a limited menu;
Rendang Rosti and Mango Smoothie.
While eating, Richard was at the table
on and off, discussing and telling me
some anecdotes. I was all choked up....
(because the rendang was too dry. Ha ha)

Finally, back at home, we got Pol's stuff.
Time to hide them from the girls, just in
case they got too curious one afternoon.

The Battle Damaged NX-01 with a broken impulse
engine cover. I removed the loose Warp Engine
Nacelle as it could not fit into the box. The Asajj
Ventress Unleashed still mint in the crumbling,
dog eared and scratched plastic package.

The Alien resin model. Have to get a bag for
it. But I can't find a doggie bag........ ha ha ha.
The Bronze Dewback is still waiting to be sold
while the Kotobukiya Kree Trooper is gone.
As for the four Matrix Figures, I think I heard
him said its sold too but I can't remember.

Dinner was not too bad. For Rm18.25, I got a rosti, a mango smoothie and a free kiwi/lemon smoothie. And towards closing time, the boxes of goodies were still unsold except for a customer who came in looking for some psoters.

The 2.7Kg Parcel IV (45 mins later)

Whoa! It left the building!

The 2.7Kg Parcel III (3 hours later)

Its gone to some FedEx location the journey took
10 hours. Must be far........

The perils of working too much

OK. I've been trying to get some work done and I was so distracted that I totally forgot about lunch. Office people have been asking if I had lunch and my answers were usually, "Yes, Just now, thanks." or "No ler."

It was not until my stomach started growling at this time did I remember that I totally forgot about taking lunch because I kept thinking, "Just a few more minutes........". So, for the rest of the afternoon, I just drank and drank lots of water.

Can't go to the canteen as they're 'out' at the factory doing their drink rounds. Can't go to the pantry as I still don't have my own cup. So its 'glug-glug' and toilet time. Ha ha ha ha ha.

Even my hard rock chocolates are in bite sizes

The 2.7Kg Parcel II (6 hours later)

Once I refreshed the webpage, its now cheeckily
gone into transit.

And if the pirate's RPG can reach this high.......
(RPG - Rocket Propelled Grenade)

The Modern Ah Pek

Yes, I am the modern Ah Pek because
I am wearing the modern and updated
Ah Pek shirt. The material is soft cotton
and a very nice round neck. If the shirt
is made thicker, I could wear it like a
T-Shirt.

The 2.7Kg Parcel I

Got an e-Mail today, asking me to track a parcel which is 2.7Kg. And so, I used the tracking number and started to track it la. What else can I do?

This is the tracking on their time, which was picked
up just before lunchtime. Their lunchtime.

This is the tracking on my time. Seems like they did
this while I was sleeping....

Want to know what it is? Well, lets see if it arrives on April 1st or get stopped at somewhere else.......

The perils of having a tired mind

Don't know why we were so tired that night. Maybe its because of the printer.

There is no printer driver and I had to wait more than two hours to download it and then install into the School Laptop. Its a long story and all the technical conclusion plus actions lead me to using the School Laptop due to viruses. suffice to say, initially, I downloaded the wrong driver and it took me ages to sort it out even after I got the right driver installed. Serves me right for misplacing the original CD.

'E' is for Ediot

She ta-pau the big Pau!

Oho! So this is what the RM4.50 Big Big Pau
looks like. And its big. Bigger than the usual
Tai Pau. It was heated and re-heated twice
as I was too busy to eat it. But when I did...
Wow. But I wished it had more so that I can
just take it out and mix it with rice while the
empty dough can be filled fried rice.....ha ha

The Closing of The Outpost

Maybe it was too far away from the centre of The Galaxy. Maybe it was the work of the Economic Forces. Maybe, maybe. Nah.

After three years and five months, The Outpost will be no more come 31st March, 2010. Its like losing an old friend. But still, its sad, really. The Outpost was THE place to be in and THE place to be seen to be in by the PEOPLE. I was there almost every week when it opened but once I realised that one of the partner, Pol has sold off his shares, I was less than enthusiastic. And after I found out the blueberry freeze was pulled off the menu, it was the last straw. Nevermind if the SFTPMS had their activities there every Sunday. Nevermind if there were cosplay activities there. But not having a blueberry freeze is the main reason I stopped going there.

The last time I was there was months ago and with a new partner, they have opened a new store to cater for toys inside the Cinema. So the Cafe was more or less, well, just a cafe and nothing more. Speaking about the toy shop, there were many a time I wanted to help by buying from them but the stuff I wanted such as the Nerf Element EX-6 (which was a Toys r Us exclusive) was never there. Moreover, the fatty manning the shop was not that attentive. However, this time when I was there, they had the Nerf Longstrike which I wanted but let's see how next month's salary says. Then, its a decision either to help a friend (who don't even know who you are let alone knows you call him a friend) or getting more Toys r Us points......

On another note, I wanted to buy the already made 1/350 battle damaged NX-01 Enterprise but at RM439, its still too high. Never mind if its out of production and all but once its cut from sprues and painted, its not worth so much. Me? I wanted to to break it into pieces, stuff in the electronics and glue it back. Heh heh.

This will be the last scene of The Outpost.

Richard is labelling all the items for sale. Unfortunately,
the helmets, especially the Iron Man, is not for sale at
RM20.00 but the shelf. Oh, the SFTPMS were having
their AGM behind the curtains and a sneak peek in
there, the atmosphere is very grim. Its as if they're
looking for a fight or something. Ha ha ha ha.

Going to Ikea

This was a last minute thing, the Ikea trip, I mean. Although my Parents have planned it for more than a week (I think) they only told me about it last night. And so, being a dutiful son (*ahem*), I had to shelve my Sunday plans and arranged the departure time. Since Kristine had not finished her homework, she could not come. Moreover, since we're going in one car to get the shelves, it was not possible to carry so many people.

I hate going to Ikea/Ikano/The Curve after 12 in the afternoon. This is because by then, everyone would have woken up and thought about going there for lunch or doing some shopping. In other words, this translates to traffic jam. Although we were late by more than an hour, we arrived at about half-past twelve. And by then, Ikea's parking was already jammed. Luckily, the guards showed us some empty space which we took immediately. Yeah, we had lunch there and this would be my first time having meatballs in the new Ikea stall. The first time was in the late 90's when Ikea was still at 1-Utama.........

Finally, after some urging, I managed to
shoo a group of Malay girls who sat and
joked after finishing their meal. There
were a lot of other people needing tables
and although they're stared daggers, they
dug right in until I came along. After that,
it was time to get some food and Kaelynn
is wondering why it took so long.

One thing new (to me) was that everyone was using
some sort of trolley for their trays. Because of so
much people walking around, this trolley actually
reduces the incidents of spilled/dropped trays and
also, hand fatigue.

And so, the meatballs arrived. Dad ordered the
10 meatballs per plate and minutes into the
meal, Dad suspects that there is 'something'
missing about the meatball plate. I looked at it
and did not notice much but its weird they put
red hot sambal along with the gravy.

And so, with much relish, Kaelynn ate
her meatballs,

And drank her orange juice,

Halfway, I noticed that the red hot sambal
was actually red sweet strawberry jam!

Then Kaelynn continued with her french fries.
By this time, her mouth was so full, that she had
to vomit some out but, she kept eating.......,

And drinking,

And and eating, etc.

And even more eating.......

Finally, after five or so meatballs, it was
time to stop and she finished with a gulp
from her personal water bottle.

Finally, it was time to continue with our
journey and we found what we came for;
the Detolf shelves selling for RM179.00.

I was tempted to buy the lights once I realised
that they were not part of the package but for
RM69.00 per pair, I was not too enthusiastic.

Then, when I opened it up, it uses those hot
bulbs or something which is not a good idea.

Not sure if the hole is already in the wood but
if its not, I am not going to drill it out anyway

And so, its just the shelves and hey, now we know
what Dad was talking about! Its the missing patty!

Meanwhile, someone was busy with a set of
Ikea pencil and paper.........

And not only that, someone tried to
readjust back the clock after some
young slobbering kid messed it up.

You know, years later, I'll bet she's going to
grow up being somebody important. And it
has nothing to do with testing tables.......

Nearing the exit, I was a bit humbled at the
huge amount of stock. Its as if I had come
into the beginning of a big warehouse. OK,
so its been a looong time since I came to
Ikea and forgot about this exit. Where got
time to go to these places, hah?

Finally, we got these to the trolley and boy,
they weigh 42 kilos each. Which is a bit
difficult to carry since they're very long
and made of glass.
