Gone in 300 seconds

What the heck!!!

I just prepared 4 oz of Milk for Kristine and she finished it in less than 5 minutes. Now she's going after my Wife.....

Not today, Dear. I have a sorethroat

Sometimes, it is very frustrating to arrive to an appointment only to find everyone missing. Yep, today's incident was one of them. My job today was to help the customer in disconnecting their telephone lines so that they can switch over to ISDN completely and also to help my friend in re-record the Automated Attendant's voice Greetings.

So, being the only one there, (I was also the earliest.) I decided start my work until I discovered that the list of telephone lines to be disconnected was not there, and it is not nice to disconnect the wrong ones. Later in the afternoon, we also realised that the cute Japanese girl who was the voice for the machine's greeting, had a sore throat. So we let our "people" talk to their "people" to re-arrange for another apointment, which I am afraid, we have to charge.

And accident at 1345 in front of the City Square, Ampang.
Someone must have knocked this motorcyclist real hard

One of my friend who managed to get across the boxes of paper to make a phone call

Hey, motion blur! Ha ha ha ha ha

I was attracted by the spotlight's mounting......
Yeah, there was a RedSun sticker on the bonnet.

Angelina Jolie owned his Notebook

One of the things I do not really like in particular was to "take care" of viruses or other strange phenomenons in computers in the office, particularly when I am not that IT savvy. So, take note: When people introduced themselves as Engineers, it does not matter if they're Electrical, Mechanical or Civil; never ask them to do mundane stuff.

For example, you just cannot ask a Mechanical Engineer to make your Uncle's Tractor to run the Indy 500. Nor can you ask an Electronics Engineer to fix your kitchen blender. The reason is, once they have a go at it, the results are always unpredictable.

Just two days ago, my colleague came to me saying that his Notebook is broken. I have warned him many times before, not to install stuff from the Internet nor look for anymore Angelina Jolie Screensavers. His Notebook displayed the symptoms of a faulty Hard disc because it took ages to have the "Start" menu pop-up and when it did, you cannot get any programs to run properly or run at all. Just to make sure, I rebooted in "Safe Mode" and it was running fine.

So, I took a look at his new "Softwares" and pinpointed on the latest ones, which, (surprise! surprise!) were the Angelina Jolie Screensavers. Once I deleted all his screensavers (save for that annoying Virtua Girl2) and rebooted, his Notebook was running fine.

Not satisfied, I ran the Ad-Aware and AVG anti-virus which picked and deleted a lot of nasty stuff, while making him wait the whole evening for teh scans to complete. Ha ha ha ha ha.

So, this was the spot where all the blood came out....

Politics

*work* *work* *work* *hammer* *hammer* *program* *dit* *dit*

All done! So, for one afternoon, I upgraded a customer's PBX system. Then its time for the customer to acknoledge my work and also to sign for the documents.

So, I went to look for the PIC (person in charge) who told me to look for another lady to sign for them. Fine, I did that but when it came to signing for the invoice, I was told to refer back to the PIC as she does not sign anything that pricing in them. So, I had to search for the PIC again. Hmmmm

Sounded like they both are not talking to each other. Either that, or I am mistaken. But I did feel like the Bat in the story of the Birds versus the Animals story.

OK, its not so bad now.
The skin is drying and peeling off without any more blood flowing out

Now I am in trouble

Now I am trouble. My friend has gotten me the Polar Lights 1/350 USS Enterprise 1701-A model. I had requested for two but it was not suposed to be in until next month.

So, we had to sell of one of mine and I have to come up with the money asap. Because if not, the importer will hold all the models until I pay up. Ha ha ha ha ha

Looking up friends

With some leisure time between appointments, I decided to drop by one on of my friends. He owns a shop dealing with ICE or, to the non-initiated, radio in the car. There were two things that suprised me:

1) He has taken over the other half lot next door, making it a full shoplot. And he has three new staffs. This means his business is picking up but not as fast as he wants.

2) One of my best friend/s has separated, with his wife taking the children. All documentation was done six months ago. This shows how out of touch I was due to my new job. I have yet to ask them since they're both my friends as well.

I think this is one of the few in Malaysia
Now I know who the criver is, must respect

I just love the funky rear lights

In front, it looks much more impressive than my Tamiya model I got in the 80's

Driving and Shooting

So, I drove up to Taiping today and decided to practice my Drive-and-shoot, which is almost impossible when you're going very fast and the car was sensitive to the slightest change in the road's surface. Ha ha ha ha

I hate this. Every morning, there are always some Goddam drivers who think they're too important to queue up.
Sometimes, it can nearly cause an accident because the cars behing them will try to move away and gets hit from the cars coming from the right lane.

As I was driving at 115Kmh, the car suddenly became very noisy and there's a loud scraping sound.
Yeap, the fasteners came loose and it was scraping on the road.

My instant on-the-field quick fix. Ha ha ha ha

It was really a very hazy day

I love this marble mountain and due to the haze, it did not turn out nice

Now, this is a very different telephone connector

Stupid guy kept mopping all over the place just when a busload of people came in.
The fans made sure the toilet was breezy

I love this shot but unfortunately, people were all over the place

Slight jam as they're paving the road

Another very nice hill

This is where the Police sits and take pictures of you driving

I followed him for a few kilometres and he just loves putting his foot on the road, even at 100kmh

To Ipoh and back

We started the journey to Ipoh at about four in the afternoon and reached there by half-past six in the evening. Before that, we stopped halfway at the Tapah R&R to do our bit to the environment. There were a lot of people there and because of Tapah's R&R decoration, it is quite beautiful there.

One funny incident is that Kristine was frightened by all the barking from the kennels until she cried. Her cries were so loud that all the dogs stopped barking afterwards.

The Wedding Dinner went off without a hitch and mostly, it was a lot of Ballet Dances since my cousin works there. By the time we finished, it was ten forty-five. So, my Dad took over and drove us home in record time. We reached home slightly after half-past midnight. Yeah, that shows how "fast" I drove. Ha ha ha ha ha

Now its time to sleep for tomorrow I am going to Taiping.

Oooh! A summons counter where everyone was checking for their offences

This is the open air toilet where you can relax after doing what you wanted to do

The one on the left is really anorexic

We were all tired but she is energetic

Sample Photo

I just managed to try out the PhotoFiltre Software after some trial and errors. But one thing is that the text cannot be "shaped" and there are no layers. Maybe there is, but I can't seem to find it. Moreover, the radial blur which I liked to use cannot be adjusted. Oh well its still much much cheaper than that Adobe Photoshop (and difficult to learn too, for me, that is)

Reduced the image to 600x450, tarnished the colours, put it a white scanline

Photofiltre

I was at LiewCF's Blog and his reccomendation for the Graphics Software called Photofiltre is good. Maybe I am an idiot because I don't know how to use GIMP eventhough it looked easy. So, for the next few days, I am going to try Photofiltre with the photos I am going to take tonight at my cousin's Wedding in Ipoh

Hot Mama

After reading Dr. Liew's Blog on the Takoyaki, I was tempted to try it out today because we were tasked to buy some obscure or rare VCD titles. It was rare because no one else wants to sell some fuddy duddy boring title that comes in three series with about 33 episodes. Since we're already hungry, I decided to go up to the sith floor for that Takoyaki. Unfortunately, on the way there, we were waylaid to a new restaurant (after opening the wrong door).

This place is caled Hot Mama, which was quite new. Previously, it was a small air-con foodcourt which guarantees foody smells on your clothes after you eat there.

Reading the bottom line

The decor at Hot Mama

I was mesmerised by the orange acrylic discs and flowers in the centre

Here is a closer look. Pardon my T630 camera

Although the seats on the left was unique, not much people sat there becase of the air-con vents which blows directly at them. After completing thier orders, these girls later moved to the right

The walls were quite nice. Previously, it was filled with smaller food stalls

My drink of choice, the special chestnut [Order no. 70 at RM3.90]
It was like drinking soup as there were too much chestnuts in there (About 40%). In the end, after the waiter took away our dishes, I has to use the Heart stirer to eat the chestnuts. I did not want to ask my Wife how her RM0.50 water tasted.

Wifey's Tom Yam Noodles [Order no. 46 at RM9.90]
You know, although all tom Yams tastes the same to me, this one is different because you know its horribly bad.
And when it came, it literally reminded me of someone vomiting into it as all the bits of food were floating on top of the very thin Tom Yam soup. As for the noodles hiding deep in the bowl, its best left at that.

My order, the Roast Beef Rice [Order no. 37 at RM9.50]
I can tell you staight away on this one. The beef was dry and tough, the sauce was salty and the lettuce leaf tasted like it was left on the table for hours.

So, do I want to go back there? I am not sure. Although the food pictured in the menu looked attractive, its more of a case of being fooled by the picture. As I recalled, I always try to steer away from any shops operated by young teenagers and what with the handkechiefs wrapped on their heads like some pirate, I should have heeded my instincts. Still maybe their chicken rice balls does not look too bad............

As we left, I wanted to treat my Wife to a round of ice-creams at Famous Amos to console her but unfortunately, my bowels protested which resulted in my losing a lot of things in the toilet.

Pizza Hut's Meatball Pizza

I haven't had Pizza for a very long time and thanks to the customer, I got my wish (indirectly). So, when they decided to make the order, someone (not me) suggested the Meatball version, which has been on the TV for quite sometime.

When it came, well, I was at a loss for words. The new recipe gives you the feeling of adding crushed macadamia nuts on your Peanut Butter Sandwich. I.e., nothing new, just a variation.

But I am still thankful that I got some nice stuff to eat since the only thing I had for the day was some half-cut sausages in pastry for breakfast. And I did not get to go home until after 530 in the evening due to some cabling complications.

High above, this is how Peace Hill looked like
(Peace Hill = Bukit Aman, Police HQ)

Since we're working until 5pm, customer ordered Pizza for everyone. They ordered the normal Pizzas and the new Meatball version

This is Pizza Hut's Meatball Pizza. There is something obsecne about it but I can't remember what.
Oh yeah, its like pulling someone's balls after cutting them open.

Close up of the meatball. If you go and order a bowl of beef noodles that comes with beef meatballs, it tastes the same, trust me. Except this one is covered with cheese and tomato paste.

Women At Work

I had to return to my customer (located near The Coliseum) today because of more follow ups. So, on the way, I saw the cleaners removing stuff from the drains. The lady in pink, IMHO could be the leader as she was giving instructions in a very loud voice to the other girls.

1120: These girls were trying to open the metal grills

It was difficult because they're stuck to the road
No, the girl on the left is not calling for help on her mobilephone

So they used metal rods and shovels to get it opened.
This is a woman's job, so the man kept his distance

1240: Covering back the grills. A very tiring work

All done!

Taking a breather

1540: Now they're at it again, this time on the other side or the road
