Being Faceless again

OK, I've just deactivated my Facebook account. First of all, I don't know what Facebook is all about but if it means sitting in front of the PC every Goddamn minute waiting to be poked, notified, given a corporeal gift, and see other people's latest pictures or how they feel at the moment is not my cup of tea.

Its downright stupid and non productive. In fact, its a fucking waste of time.

So, sorry guys, if you want to add me to your Facebook, I no longer exist as if right now. I prefer E-Mails, Yahoo! Messenger and SMS. Bye.

OK, you can add this angst to my being stuck in a traffic jam at the Federal Highway for almost two mother fucking hours. And it was raining and no one gave way when I signalled.

The state of mind

Just like the picture below, this is the state of my mind. Outside, its full of life and everything is hunky dory. Inside, well, its empty. From the last few posts, you'd already guessed I am going nuts. Ha ha ha ha!

Kaelynn and the hat

Kaelynn found a hat today and was very interested in it. Previously, when I got her to wear one, she refused. So, with my camera, she was encouraged to wear the hat so that she could see how it was photographed on the Nikon D50's LCD screen.

This is Kaelynn with the hat

And its a very big hat. Whatever poses she did, it was still too big.
After playing with it, she got bored

Very very bored. I would say, it lasted about 80 seconds

Minutes before

Wow. Must take picture!
Is that your Hobby? You take your camera everywhere?
No lar, I just like taking photos
There must be a reason you take photos, right?
Yeah,memory cards are cheap
So, what is it? Haze? Someone burning?
Yeah, maybe it looks like haze but its a bit different.......

15 minutes later, as I was walking to my car, it rained. Heavily.

How to make a Dungeon

You have to do this very quickly. Wait until all the workers
have gone home and then use their equipment to make a
rectangular hole. Build some stairs as well. While waiting
for the cement to dry, you can start on other areas.

Here is a good example, where there are now two dungeon
access. By the time you have built the second stairs, the
first one would be ready. Now, this is a good time to plan
on the size of the dungeon underneath. But if you're going
to make a maze, it woulld be impossible to complete it in
the morning. So, that is where the time displacement
device would come in handy. Set it to slow time to 100
years per second. But make sure you take your anti-
aging pill before activating the device. This method
would let you make a very detailed dunegon in less
than 6 seconds. Oh, getting some labourers would
help a lot too.

Once it is complete, create some fatal disease such as the
bubonic plaque and the autorities would seal off the are
for a very long time. This would then give you more time
to create a good dungeon and locate exotic monsters. By
then, you could charge a small fortune for those hardcore
painball fanatics to enjoy the ultimate D&D adventure

What tea again?

OK, there is nothing better than eating sambal petai with rice. In fact, this is the best way to enjoy them. Forget about eating it raw, steamed, juiced, powdered or even stewed. And now, jsut as I was stuck in a traffic jam, I saw it. A new way to consume it. Unfortunately, I could not stop the car in the middle of the road to ask the driver for more details.

Unlike Blue Pepsi, petai is a very good indicator (for me) to show that it has gone from your stomach to the kidneys to your pee-pee. Because after eating it, when you pee or shit, the smell would tell you a lot. Ok, so I don't know if they're good for you or not but I just like eating them. Unfortunately, they're expensive and if you do eat outside, they would split the petai in half to save cost.

Was there something wrong with my eyes?

Here it is again. Petai root tea!
Does it really exist and how does it taste?

Eating at Chili's

Yep, its a special occasion and we splurged a bit at Bangsar's Chili's. Now, there are two reasons for eating at Chili's: Bottomless Softdrinks & Fruitjuices and Free children's meals (also with bottomless drinks)

So, I am getting used to it but there is a slight problem which I always forget: The portions are huge. So, as usual, the other half of my salad had to be packed in a take-away (and the size of the salad shrunk by morning). Which is still great because I can have it for next day's breakfast or dinner. And since my Mom ordered something like Lamb Shank (or was it ribs?) which was too much, I got the chance to savour it. Damn good, I tell you.

This time, the bill was much more reasonable. But deep inside, I was hoping to order the nachos and bottomless tostada which I could use it as replacement for my main meal.........

The girls trying the cute girl's "finger near the eye" stunt

And since this is a happy occasion, hugging is accepted

Being Smart

I was at a customer's place and I saw a Smart parked outside. Apparently, it was left out to dry/wait for further action. I walked closer and had a real good look. There is not much space to put anything in the car except your own body. But by golly, its a very nice car! But the LCD dashboard, needs to get used to.

For the rest of the day, I was day-dreaming about the Smart.........

Although the front looks like an unmasked puppet/robot,
the white horizontal bar is actually polystyrene. Talk
about being light.

Rattlesnake Eggs (Singing Magnets)

Whatever its called, they are just a pair of magnets. A pair of VERY strong ellipsoidal hematite magnets. (In layman terms, the poles of the magnets are very close together because of the small circumference). And the sound they produce is *wow*.

Its like nothing I have ever heard before. The sound is like a cross between crackling electricity, cicada chirps and hard surface knocking/clicking together rapidly in a rising pitch. Even from a far distance, that sound mesmerises. (OK, so wife came running in, wondering what I was up to)

I am not sure what to do with it, but all I did was to separate the two spheres together, about an inch apart and then toss them up in the air. The longer they're up in the air, the better the sound. So, you can play with it all day but beware that a lot of curious people would appear. Oh, and make sure you do not drop them near your Hard disk or any devices sensitive to magnets. Ha ha ha ha ha!

These little magnets are no bigger than 2cm

And they're quite strong. See how it affects the LEDs

They are still attracted to each other even when I
separated them with my palm

So, this is how you make the sound. Separate the magnets
and then toss them up the air. You can also try it on a flat
surface too but the surface would absorb all the kinetic
energy but it would create a different sound. Maybe I
should try with different surface too.

Homework

Both girls were excited about using their colour pencils and so, I moved to the table. This is a very old table, which my Dad made for us when we were very very young, to do our homework. Throughout the years, the table had many uses and now, its was the occasional table for the girls. It has come to full circle.

Kristine with her maths book and Kaelynn with her colouring book

Occasionally, there would be some friendly jibes. Which is
good because most often than not, it would end up in a
shouting/crying match and everyone would be pissed

Oh, thank you, kind sir

While I was at the traffic lights after leaving my customer's office, I spotted this poor old lady who sat on the pavement, holding out a paper cup. Most of the people walked past, ignored her but occasionally, some kind soul would take pity on her. Although it is dark at night I had to set to ISO1600. I wanted to take the shot with some people walking past, creating a blur while she is the only clear subject but because the traffics were about to change, I had to compromise and used the opposite car's headlights.

Unfortunately, it turned out shite. I could have changed to the zoom lens (about 20 seconds) but my Bengmobile was shaking too much, even when idling.

Us and Them

Customer: Wei, I got one problem with one of the phones la
Me: Oh, what is the problem?
Customer: Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't
Me: Was that phone using the new port installed by the main distributor?
Customer: Yes. They installed the new cards

So, I went over to the PABX, and looked at the installation of the new card. It was loosely connected and moreover, the cables were not properly arranged. Sigh. Let them have the business and this is how they screw the customer. Its alright for them as they have the resources to make follow up calls but not us. We have to get everything done right the first time.

Me: Oh, here is the problem. A loose connection
Customer: Wah, you're so good! One look and you know the problem!
Me: Well, thats experience for you. And I can bet it was done by a new guy, right?
Customer: Erm could be. We wanted your service but ended up getting from them
Me; Yeah, I remembered that. It was a technical issue because you ordered two items separately and thus, they got the deal
Customer: Yeah........
Me: ......

So, in the end, I folded a piece of carboard and
slipped between the metal clamp and the black
connector. Problem solved.

Pee-ed by an Air-con

Basket! Of all the things happened to me this one really takes the cake. Remember some time ago in June that this customer has a problem with their air-con system? Well, it got worse and still no one came to rectify it. I was halfway programming the PABX when suddenly there was a water coming from the air-con. Trust me on this, the air-con was not leaking water drop by drop but rather, peeing. Its as if it has a broken pipe or something. I stood up, stared at it for nearly 15 seconds before my reflex kicked in and I started shooting with my Nikon D50.

Its a matter of time before the water starts to affect the wall where the PABX and the air-cons are mounted. The walls are not made of concrete but rather gypsum. Already some of the area is affected. And when it does collapse, its not going to be a pretty sight. Everytime I come here, I have to notify the customer. That's the most I can do.

See? I am not joking. It pee-ed on me!

And already the floor and the batteries are wet
(OK, the batteries were already wet when I came in)

This time, I am getting worried because the new
splash is affecting more than the power extension
and its a matter of time before these adaptors are
affected, and make the whole thing go kablooie

Its already trickling water.........

Although there were some splashes to the PABX,
I am not so worried. I am more concerned about
the water being soaked up by the plaster wall
which will make everything mounted on it fall

Sigh, I have to assume this happens very often now

Crispy Prawn Chilli

Sometimes, I think I love sauces more than the food itself. I realise this at one time when there were some food laid on the table and the only thing that came to my mind was what kind of sauce would be perfect for it. And then, I would go looking for that sauce in the kitchen. Then, when going shopping, I would (sometimes) scour the sauce section for that "perfect" chili sauce or something else. When I do get it, I would eat it a lot, sometimes by itself and sometimes with the food.

And two years ago, it was the worst. Practically everyday, I must have black pepper. And not the normal ones but the Sarawak Black Pepper. Black pepper with porridge, black pepper with rice, etc. until Kristine broke the pepper mill and that was that.

And now, the latest one is the crispy chili. This is the Crispy Prawn Chili from Tean's Gourmet, which I can only find in Giant supermarket and nowhere else (at the moment). Its made mostly from prawns and its great to have for almost anything. But because I have some form of allergy to prawns, after eating it i would get the occasional eye itch which I would rub until it turns red. But its a great sauce nonetheless. You can buy the small one for about RM4.59 (I think) or the larger RM8.59. But I must warn you, once you start, you can't stop, at least for me, that is.

This is the MR8.59 version which usually lasts me for a month or two

Look at the red oily sauce inside! But be warned,
you must use a dry utensil to scoop it out. And
if you put it in the fridge, it would freeze up so
you will need to thaw it out unless you want to
put it into something hot.

Kaelynn and the Ice Cream

She ate one yesterday and this is her second MacDonalds
I'd better stop getting sweets for her too. They're been eating
chocolates, lollipops, crisps and whatnots for the past few
days....

Furore over Racist Blog Posting

Sammy Chan, 22
"Life is a Drama" Blog

Indians are useless son of bitches!

I had the most numb experience today. I thought being sleepy and woozy was bad enough.

Wait till i tell you what happened during lunch in the office area today.

Some INDIAN teenager grabbed my phone (which was on the table, right beside my hand) and ran off.

Yes I KNOW. Despite what everyone said about not leaving your phone on the table, I did it.

How the heck to prevent? It's not like I can hold on to my phone while I'm eating. I'll definitely drop it if I put it on my lap. ANd i thought it would be safe enough on the table, very very near to me.

FARK.

I'm not trying to be racist but it's always INDIAN. It's INDIAN's fault.

I don't care if I'm sued for racism.

I HATE INDIANS. It's bad enough they are famous for being drunk and rude (most of them anyway). Now, they carry the reputation of being stealer, robbers, rapist, idiots, morons, drunk bastards, and the list goes on...

SUE ME you idiotic Indians. SUE ME, darn assholes.

Complained all you want on my blog and my chatbox. I promise I won't sensor any comments.
You come and complain if you dare. If you half-heartedly think it's true, then don't even bother suing me.

Because I know you Indians (the good ones) know it's true!

You Indians got no hands and legs to work and earn money is it? Stealing from other people is a happy thing and your source of income eh? Wait for the day of your fall and people will kick you on the roadside for stealing.

Note: Now i've to perform my usual ritual to curse that asshole who stole my phone to die on his way out from my office building. Get knocked down by a car and die beside my phone. Even better if I'm the one who knocked him down.

That was the posting from http://sammy-bammy.blogspot.com/ on Sept 23 (which is now open to invited readers only). And after receiving a lot of replies, this is her "face-saving get out of trouble" reply on October 3rd:

To the critics

I just wrote an entry 2 days ago since I have so much angst when my phone got snatched.
And today my blog is flooded with comments. So this post is to answer all queries.

Honestly, i accept all the comments! Haha, maybe i'm too busy with work today i went cuckoo.

Yes yes i am racist, but not all times. It doesn't help the fact that most of the phone snatchers i heard are Indians. Or Malay or Indons.

And wow?! I didn't expect so many people to read my blog. Except for my few friends. Do ppl google for 'racism' blog entries these days?

And I'm not contradicting myself, cos i know although there's alot of baddie indians outside..there are a lot of nice sweet ones too.

I have a quite a few Indian friends, and they're all nice. I salute them for being the best among their race; with all their mind set to success.

As for those who steal for survival, i despise them and I spit on them. Are healthy body made for running fast after stealing something? I guess not.

And..I'm not a dramatic person, it's only my life that oftenly takes a dramatic turn . So, I'm not trying to be any famous dramatic blogger. No thanks. Can't find the time to entertain comments on my blog.

Sorry if I offended any Indians. You should know that if you're one of the good, educated ones then you shouldn't be disturbed by what I say.

Btw, a person gets all rights to curse when he/she's really angry kan kan?

So, what happens? Yep, Hindraf and the Police happened. Can I say its her fault for carelessly leaving her phone on the table? Yes? No?

But whatever it is, the Secret is out.
Its one of those Public Secrets where everyone knows it but won't say it out (loud) except behind closed doors. Everyone who has been brought up would hear tales about these people and even experience them. Let's face it, it has been ingrained into us since we were young. But there are both sides to the coin and its very hard to prove yourself when the stigma is attached. I have been advised against them, everyone I know, also tells me the same story, even by those dearest to me. And everyone one I know has either been told about the same thing or experienced it themselves. But deep inside, I really want to believe its not true. I really want believe we are the same.

So, what happens to her? I don't even know but if everyone is going for her jugular, its not going to solve the problem in the slightest. So, find the source why it has come to this. Yeah, its going to be a monumental task and would take a long time.

Everyone is lovey dovey in La-la Land but all it takes just one spark and the whole thing hits the fan. If I don't say it, someone else will and if they don't someone they know will and so on. So far, (touch wood) I have been lucky but I cannot even trust my own judgement when it happens.

LIttleRed Riding Hood at Mid-Valley

This is the final weekend before everything goes back to normal. By Sunday, everyone would have come back from their Hari Raya Holidays, clogging up the Highways and so on. Still, it was a nice change for us as sometimes, going to Mid-Valley can really be a real hassle what with everyone having the same idea and thus jamming up the road.

But tonight, it was no to be. Everything was smooth. No jams and although the crowd was large, there was ample parking space. After completing our shopping for groceries, we had a lot of time to explore the shops. But because of Kristine and Kaelynn, we had to stop to get them some ice-creams and carry them all over the place, we were too exhausted to fulfill our brief freedom.

Here she is, the Little Red Riding Hood.
As cheeky as ever

Now, she is trying to be Spiderman pulak

Playing peek-a-boo with Kaelynn

Most of the shoppers started to come towards the Center Court
as the Gamelan Performance had started. However, when I
approached nearer, it was not worth taking close-ups as the
band members looked bored with their tulan face. And at
ISO800 setting, it was already difficult to shoot what with
all those lighting playing havoc with the White Balance

Michelle Allen aka The Drunken Cow

Middletown, Ohio (The Weekly Vice) -- Michelle Allen, a 32 year old Middletown, Ohio woman was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct after she chased neighborhood children around, urinated on a neighbor's front porch and then blocked traffic - all while dressing in a cow costume.

Police were contacted Monday evening after a woman was seen chasing after neighborhood children and interfering with traffic along the 3100 block of Wilbraham Rd. Witnesses also say Allen urinated on a neighbor's front porch, according to the arrest affidavit.

When police arrived, they told Allen to go home and to stay at home for the remainder of the evening.

Instead, police say, Allen was found later that same evening blocking traffic on North Verity Parkway. Officers stated that the woman was verbally abusive to the officers, acted belligerent, used profanity, and smelled of alcohol. Allen also threatened to cause problems in jail if she was arrested.

Allen was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.

She was reportedly still dressed like a cow at her arraignment hearing Tuesday morning, although there was no explanation as to why she was still wearing the costume.

OK, this one got me in stitches.

Its not everyday that you hear such stories but this is udderly insane. I mean, why would a cow dress up as a woman? Its one thing to call a cow, a cow. But its not funny when you call a cow, a woman. Was it suffering from Mad Cow Disease or what? I mean, Halloween is just weeks away and going around the streets with that costume now, is just risking it. Maybe it had a beef with the farmer and was on its way to seek some bovine retribution. Or maybe it just had too much Grass.

But whatever it was, I am very certain the authorities won't get much out of it except for the miscommunication part because drunks always mince their words. Most probably, she would say, "Hoof off" or something in that particular. It would be a big problem for everyone if she said, "I'm horny in jail too"

And I can tell you, the media are having a field day milking this one dry.

Boyhandling the EBF-25 Nerf Vulcan

After our trip to Petaling Street, I highlighted to my wife that I really do need to cut my hair since its already past three months (I think). So, she dropped me off at Bangsar Village and would pick me up when I am done. I think she wants to go home not because of the kids but to try the Assam Laksa we bought.

There is a shop in Petaling Street which is famous for the Assam Laksa. But if I remember correctly, I think there were two. But nevertheless, we settled for the one near the traffic lights, located just right next to the wet market. In fact, its actually more of an alley and even after a decade, it hasn't changed much. They have one or two new helper and the rats are still running all over the plaace, even in broad daylight. I did not see any but my daughter did. Luckily she did not scream.

Anyway, after the haircut, I decided to hop over to Toys R Us for some "updates" on new toys. And they had a Nerf Vulcan on the counter. I presumed it was for another customer, so I did not bother much about but went straight to the Nerf section. Yep, its definitely on sale and just uder RM200 as well. I am tempted to get it but not right now. And then, it rained. I could call my wife to come fetch me or I could wait it out and then walk all the way home. But since I have some time left, I decided to go over to the counter and have a first hand look at the Vulcan. Apparently, they arrived a few days ago and the one sitting on the counter is a customer return because the customer found only 23 out of 25 foam darts. Yeah.

So, because of that, they have to dismantle the toy and return it to Hasbro. And that's where the problm starts. The top handle and the cocking/reload machanism uses snap-on parts which, unfortunately, snaps on permanently. So, both of us (OK, I busybody la) managed to get the handle off but not the cocking/reload orange thingy. And after holding the toyfor a bit, I am not too excited. Sure, the grip and top flip open ON/OFF switch is nice but thats about it. Just like a Richard Clayderman CD, its great to listen to but embarassing to own it.

But I am setting my eye on the Longshot, which the staff told me, everyone was also asking for it but since they do not own Hasbro, its a wait and see game over here. Of course I could scout at eBay but then, its not worth the hassle over postage and Customs.
Ta-da! The meanest NERF gun evar!

Going to Petaling Street

Since we're still on Holiday, we decided to go to Petaling Street after showing my Wife how to get to a certain place from her school. Anyway, this will be quite an experience for the girls who have never been to this iconic place in KL before. And at six in the evening, its already quite crowded. Carrying a bag and an umbrella while holding Kristine in a crowd is quite a challenge but we persevered. Still, for old time's sake, I wanted to lose myself into the streets but now, things have changed. A lot. So, its not safe to do that anymore or leave the kids alone even for a few seconds for that matter.

Lots of people here and there and there are so much
things to look at and buy, even though its not real

There is a reason why they put the titles in a file and lay
them on a metal display grill. Because if they get
caught, those are just paper and if they need to run
away, I guess the grill is very light.
(I bought a copy of Kung-Fu Panda as promised to
Kristine.) The disks are not there but they have a runner
to get it for you. Do not be fooled by their pity or the sales
pitch to get you to buy more than what you needed. Stick
to the plan or else you'd lose a lot of money. This is very different
from a normal brick-and-mortar Uncle Ho branch

This girl is amazing. She can slice the watermelon,
cut them and put them into the plastic bag in seconds.
If I had a video camera, you would be amazed.

How much is this?
RM10.00
What? RM30.00
RM10.00
Sure or not?
RM10.00
RM7.00, la.
Cannot la. RM10
(Since I nearly dressed like on of those sellers there.....)
Wei, my shop up there sell RM5 only la
OK, OK. RM 5
Thanks and bye.
(I quickly cabut in case he wants to find my "shop")
